My name is Jesse and I have been grooming for four years. I got my start at a corporate salon, working my way up quickly from a bather to an academy student, a full-time pet stylist, and eventually went through Cat Academy. I built a wonderful group of regulars and developed a knack for working with dogs with behavior issues or trauma. It was said by many of my previous coworkers that I was the most patient groomer in the salon, often continuing to work through grooms long after other groomers would have given up. I have a background in training because of my own personal experiences with having a reactive and fearful dog. I believe this has contributed greatly to my success. As time went on, I began to feel that I had outgrown the fast-paced, corporate culture of rushing through as many dogs as possible, and wanted a different path for myself and my dog clients that I had to come to love as if they were my own. Thus, Awkward Paws was born!

With four years of experience, I prioritize the well-being of your furry friends and treat them as our own. My specialization lies in handling fearful and reactive dogs with care and patience. I am well-versed in providing breed standard haircuts, creative styles, and comfort-based cuts. I don't force animals through services, and I let them determine the speed of the groom based on their comfort level. My mission is to ensure that every pet feels safe and comfortable during their grooming experience, and every pet parent leaves happy!
